OK, great. Welcome to this week's changes at MMC.

One wonders if the org chart is in pencil. Why bother doing one in PowerPoint and converting it to a pdf format. By the time the ink dries, who knows if someone's pet hamster is going to be in charge of what used to be the best brokerage in the World.

The Ghosts of 9/11 must be rolling. After Osama couldn't get rid of the company, no one since, including Spitzer or the succession of MMC executives, has done more to decimate the core of this firm.

The unfortunate - or rather the SMART - asspect of the last several years was in redesigning their business models to stratigraphy the brokerage operation into pure functions, mirroring the banking industry. Then, they made it sound sooo enticing that Aon copied it, and the two dinosaurs wallowed in the tar pits until the scales fell from their eyes. But by then, the damage had been done.

RIP MMC.
