Those little curly things are also dangerous. If one breaks, you must open your windows because it contains mercury. You can't just throw it away either. I heard reports of one woman having to spend $1000 or something like that on hazmat cleanup. I also heard a report today that said that studies were being done regarding a link between the light from these bulbs and skin cancer, and also that people with epilepsy or lupus could have problems.
The biggest croc is NBC leading the charge to go green when they are owned by GE; one of the leaders in manufacturing those little curly bulbs.
Stock up on the old bulbs while you can. While you are at it, get a couple cases to put away so you can give them to your kids when they move into a house of their own.
