Once again the Fed wants to take away our rights to make stupid choices. However, if the Fed gets more involved, when we do make stupid choices, they'll feel even more sympathetic to bail out mortgage companies. Where was the Fed when the mortgage companies were making money hand over fist? I say let them fail. If I went to the casino and blew all my life savings on Red 7, can I go to the Fed and say I made a mistake and please give me my life savings back? NO! So these companies and consumers gambled. Is it my fault as a tax payer? NO! Do I want to pay for bigger government as a tax payer? NO!
