With 15 named storms, 2007 WAS above average. Three tropical storms (Barry Gabrielle, and Olga) and 1 hurricane (Humberto) made landfall in the US. Central America got it worse, including an unprecedented two category 5 storms in the same season.

"Above average" has been forecase the last 4 years, and has been accurate in 3 of them.
