I am so sick of BIG business and Insurance companies, they make me sick! We are insured to death...literally! The big problem with insurance companies is it has become about massive profits and they are more concerned about how to NOT pay for claims whether it is auto, home, or medical. They no longer believe in what insurance is based on which is spreading the risk. Yes I live in Florida (not on the coast) and my rates are outrageous! I am sick of people saying they pay for me to live in Florida. Well what about all the tornadoes, mudslides, earthquakes, and other natural disasters that do NOT occur in Florida or hurricanes that damage property in other states? My in-laws live in Pittsburgh and they have had more damage from hurricanes where they live then I have ever had. As a matter of fact I have NEVER had an insurance claim on my home, yet in Pennsylvania, Tropical Storm Isabel passed through southwestern Pennsylvania, though its large circulation produced tropical storm force winds throughout much of the state. The passage of Hurricane Isabel resulted in $160 million in damage (2003 USD, $175 million 2006 USD) and 2 indirect deaths in Pennsylvania. Yet their insurance premiums in Pennsylvania aren't even a quarter of what I pay in Florida. Another FACT is while Floridians pay more into the national flood plan we have one of the lowest claim totals…so are we subsidizing all of you that live in flood prone areas? Do you hear us *****ing about that, NO because it is called "spreading the risk"!

As for all the name calling on this site it is simply the rich (CEO"S and such) complaining about not making an extra billion off the backs of the poor by raping them with insurance! When did it ever become a "BAD" thing to help someone in need??? So what if you "gazzillionaires" have to pay a little extra to help people out. My husband and I make a good amount of money and we never complain about having to help out people by paying more. I guess our parents raised us better, with morals, compassion, and not to be greedy. Don't worry folks those who are greedy will be judged in the end. Jesus said, "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God"
