The Repulicans were instrumental for helping former slaves during the Reconstruction Era too (i.e. carpetbaggers). I have not read the book but I for ONE am sick of conferences and writing about a problem - at this point it is TIME TO IMPLEMENT THE SOLUTION.

Just because someone is registered as a republican and he is Black is of no concern to me. There are plenty of Republicans in the presidential race now jumping from party to party behind the curtain just to get their agenda across (i.e. getting rid of Hilary before the November elections). I like the ideals of both parties myself - I am conservative (except w/spouse) and I am liberal on some issues too such as immigration. I own a gun, drive an SUV and I even have a child that plays soccer too (um, imagine that). Masters degree, AU designation, and working on CPCU.
