Why would rates increasing cause an agent to salivate? Even if you know nothing about the insurance industry, rates increasing does not help an agent. Even if they manage to eek a couple cents more out of every policy (depending on how their commissions are calculated) they also have to pay their own insurance, the increase the customers feel is also felt by them.

At least if you said the big companies would be making more money I would just say you were another anti-big business communist who does not understand expense ratios. But your statement makes so little sense the only thing I can assume is you have NO IDEA of either the insurance industry or economics in general.
