Was or was not S&P up to its neck in certifying the creditworthiness of many of the failed and failing mortgage securities? If so, why believe them now as Allstate tries to shuffle some of the same off its books? To keep CONfidence high? or to continue to be victims in a CON game?

Financial gurus out there in IJ land--hold forth and let us know the truth.
