Insurers want a system similar to U.S. Banking regulation that allows banks to choose their regulator. 'The insurance industry is very pragmatic in their selection of a preferred regulator," Plunkett said. "They always favor the least regulation."

And look at that how that has made the banking industry so successful!

Whether it is the Feds or state regulators, the least regulation should not mean ineffective regulation. BFannie Mae and Freddie Mac were very effective at keeping the regulators away and the American taxpayers will pay for it.
