Price only matters up to a point. Carrier service does have a huge factor in this. I am working on a renewal for a client that absolutely will refuse a renewal quote from their current carrier, just because a claims adjuster was snotty with when inspecting a roof for a roof claim. Service does matter. Service to the agent, service to the insured. I have a couple of carriers that I will use as a last resort because how difficult they are to work with. An agent's time is money. As long as the insured does not loose out by paying higher premium or has less coverage, service is the next thing we have to judge when selecting a carrier for our clients. A carrier's service not only reflects their organization, but the agent's reputation too. A lot of insureds see the agent and carrier as one and the same.
