A Major developer client of mine on a very high profile project in Miami was coerced by Wachovia to leave me and spend 20% more for far less insurance (much higher deductible, Surplus lines instead of admitted, TIV deductible instead of per building.) Wachovia leveraged their lending to obtain the insurance business to the detriment of the client. Shameful. I have all of the evidence and would have gone to the department of insurance, the newsmedia, and the attorney general but was begged not to by my client who still places considerable other insurance with me.
Wachovia insurance is an example of what is wrong with our business.
