You are so right to warn about having a "loss"; seems that the banking folks forgot that the insurance contract is supposed to work two ways, premiums for coverage, payments for losses. They thought it would be easy money to support property loans, but they only wanted to count the money coming in; so when claims were made, it was insurance 101 time. I wonder how they fair at market conduct exams? Banking folks don't have a clue about insurance, let alone a good understanding about banking, i.e. underwriting loans, which they seem to have forgotten about.
