It's about time that someone puts together a program for golf course cardiac preparedness; especially considering the frequency of Cardiac Arrest on the links.

Certainly not having an AED is a death certificate for a golfer in cardiac arrest on the course; worse is not having a plan to react if you do have an AED.

Many courses have them, but don't tell the golfers. An incident happens and the playing partners call 9-1-1, as they should. Most times, they don't think of calling the pro shop/security for the course as well.

9-1-1 dispatchers don't know that there is an AED available and it will easily take more than the national average of 7-8 minutes for paramedics to arrive.

Congratulations to Preferred Club and CardioReady for overcoming antiquated belief systems looking out for what's best for the health and safety of the players.
