Subject: Some questions for the public option advocates
2) If 1300 health insurers, with adequate reserves, disbanded, how would that affect the financial markets? Presumably the reserves for those companies are heavily invested in Treasury Bills and bonds. What would happen to our economy and interest rates if they dissolved?
3) Who dispositions health care at a lower cost per patient today? Medicare or private health insurers? Whats the cost per patient?
4) Just what are the profits of the 1300 health insurance providers today? We hear about 'profiteers' from people who have no idea what the profit margin is, or what it should be.
5) What would happen to the employees of those 1300 taxpaying insurance companies?
Right now those companies are a source of income for our government. The income would have to be replaced with taxes, eh?
6) Obama touched on rationing last night.
No more hip replacements or pacemakers for 90 year olds. Now that we have opened up the idea of rationing, how do we feel?
7) Can one sue medicaid today? I don't really know. What will tort reform look like?
Now that our lawmakers are SERIOUSLY considering changes, they are now considering SERIOUS consequences. I sure wish they had thought these things through before they got the socialists all stirred up. Gonna be some disappointed socialists, I think.
