Donna is exactly right about Nursing Homes getting previous notice about complaints, etc. My aunt was taken over by a nursing home after her son died and because of her healthy finances. Tens of thousands of dollars taken with nothing to do with her nursing home costs. We have checks, depositions from the administrator, doctor, etc., and not one state agency will do anything. The attorney generals office stated that they don't like to go into small towns and upset people so they don't. DHS cleared this situation without EVER interviewing or talking to one family member. State Nursing Home Director advised he wasn't interested and if he ever got "around to it", there might be an investigation.

I applaud this paper for having the courage to speak out against this board. The Daily Oklahoman doesn't seem to participate.
