It is my understanding that the former attorney general in Oklahoma left that job and now has ownerships in nursing homes. Politics is so intertwined in our nursing home establishment here and currently, the board does have doctors, etc., sitting on it. This board needs to be comprised of people who care about the elderly, not money or politics and seeing how the governor would be the one who appoints them, that's not going to happen.

Why are convicted sex offenders being placed in nursing homes as their means of confinement? How could our elected officials let that happen and if they didn't know, they sure do now and why are they not doing something to stop that? The true question should be why is the public not outraged about this? There have already been several rapes in Oklahoma and think of how many are not reported coming from these facilities. The best thing happening for the elderly today is Wes Bledsoe, the advocate for the elderly, his organization is named "A Perfect Cause." I've seen him on the OKC news and finally called and he is appalled and frustrated with things going on in these nursing homes. I have to agree.
