I was hit by a 17 y/o kid who turns out was excluded from his parent's insurance. He wasn't supposed to be driving his mother's truck and his mom and dad had specifically excluded their son off their insurance policy! So when he hit me he was driving w/o insurance and never had any. He got a ticket for no insurance and then either he or his parents gave the court the parent's insurance card to get him out of the ticket knowing full-well he was not covered by their policy.
This has got to be changed. I'm in favor of uninsured cars being towed off and huge fines given to those drivers. Why do cops let motorists drive away who cannot prove they are insured especially when they have been involved in an accident? It makes no sense to me.
