I wish it were that simple. We did not have the time nor the resources at the time to be overly selective. We have been looking for other insurance companies that would consider taking us on but were told that there was a long waiting list and that several of them were not taking new customers at the time.
That coupled with family medical problems consumed much of our time and energy.
As for contractors, we know a contractor who does roofing and is very reliable. We just need to be able to pay him for the work. Some of the damage we can repair ourselves but it will cost money for the supplies.
I do not expect Fairplan to perform miracles. However I do expect them to do what they are paid to do and at least acknowledge that I have a policy after I shelled out so much money to them. We even got flood insurance and some of the extra coverage that cost quite a bit.
Fairplan is more expensive than our previous insurance.
