Folks... let's get real for a moment. As a former Farmer' agent for 10 years, I can look at this from both sides of the fence.
"Ron B" and "Heman" must be current Farmers agents to make the statements they're making. The name "Farmers" and the word "progressive" in the same sentence is an oxymoron. And as it applies to their current homeowner offering, it most certainly is not progressive when compared to what an independent agent can offer.
In the past year, I have not sold a single HO-A (amended or otherwise) or even an ISO-3. (And I have access to all of them I want.) The HO-B is back and I currently have 5 companies, yes I said 5 companies offering HO-B coverage. Three of the five companies are A or B++ rated. And these companies are competitive... they beat Farmers and most other companies consistently. I do not exaggerate when I say that I have not lost to Farmers in the past two years. There are just too many better options available.
Farmer's new policy is not progressive just because a customer can add an endorsement here or delete an endorsement there. Getting the most coverage (like a HO-B) for a similar or better price than these piece-mealed plans offer is what's progressive.
