Farmers Insurance can offer all the insurance packages, "discounts" or "choices" they want. The bottom line is how will the company hold up when a claim is filed? The answer: Terrible! I went to the Texas Department of Insurance web site to see the latest statistics. According to the Texas Department of Insurance Complaint Information for 2004 Farmers Insurance has the MOST JUSTIFIED COMPLAINTS!! Farmer's reputation from the claims handling is TERRIBLE in TEXAS! Farmer Insurance (combining its subsidiaries Farmers Insurance Exchange and Fire Insurance Exchange) has the MOST JUSTIFIED COMPLAINTS (114+95=209). The Complaint Index for each of those respectively is 2.78 and 1.87. Anything above 1.00 means more complaints than average. Of the three companies with the most justified complaints. Farmers Insurance has the WORST Complaint Index.
Tell those 209 Texans with justified complaints about the new "Texas Family Home Policy". Does it really matter how Farmers Insurance packages their insurance or how they customize it for the customer? Either way the complaint statistics tell the story. Farmers Insurance is TERRIBLE. Avoid this company!
