I was treated at Copes Clinic 7 yrs. ago. I paid $8,000.00 up front for the cost of the brace and initial evaluation. When I called to return the following year for my evaluation, I was told that the fee would be $1000.00 plus lab work, instead of the $250.00 I was quoted when I first became a patient. I immediately discontinued my care there and went to a spinal surgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He was so outraged that he wrote to Dr. Copes informing him that there were no published articles that supported his method of treatment, especially in adults. No response was received. I hope this guy does go to jail. If I hadn't been a nurse, I might not have recognized the warning signs as early as I did. Thank you for prosecuting this jerk. VCardona
