Our Local newspaper, the Houma Courrier, has been running a series of articles about people are considering leaving the area due to the high cost of Home and Commercial Insurance in Louisiana. The Houma-Thibodaux area is one of the fastest growing areas in the State.

Undoubtably, some families will have to forgo the purchase of new homes since no one is writing this market except the Louisiana Citizens plan. No question that premiums are higher than what has been paid in past years.

I noted in a previous issue of the Journal that several companies have stepped up to fill the gap left after the recent storms. I have yet to find anyone to help the people in South Louisiana.

We are experiencing a serious problem. What I would not give for a good Homeowners contract for these people!
