Trial bar controlling the state senate?? When was that? We have more lawyers in our senate than prior to the last election. The author of the house version is a trial lawyer who represents insurance companies so of course his clients will directly benefit but of course wont pass along those savings. As for Senator Paddack, her husband is Vice-chair of the board of the largest insurer of doctors in the state-- these elected officials dont care about the citizens, only the corporate profits they can pass along to their clients and family members.

If the governor vetos the bill, it wont be due to his practice of law, rather his understanding of the violations of the state constitution that this bill encompasses.

If the senators and house members who sponsored this bill really wanted to pass meaningful legislation, they would pass things they knew to meet constitutional muster that would make the system more effecient and reduce frivolous claims without taking away the rights of those who have meritorious claims-- that is the kind of reform I believe the governor would sign and rightfully so.
