Today, we then find the city of Metairie, immediately North of New Orleans, does not participage in the NFIP! I understand much of it lies behind the levees of Lake Ponchatrain. So the occupants cannot purchase flood coverage through the NFIB- does the city does not want to enforce building codes??? So they look for someone else to pay and other insurance appears to be the likely source.
And LA wonders why it has problems.
