Disclosure laws for public service are already in place in most states. LA is, understandably, late to the party. Requiring spouse information just ensures that the board member/state rep/councilman is not influencing contracts where the payoff comes in through the side door.
It is no surprise that when the light went on the cockroaches scurried for the walls. It is no wonder that LA is still not rebuilt after Katrina--where does the money go? I wonder...
