I agree with Wudchuck and Dread. I suggested the National Park idea a few years back. Anyway, can the other 49 states elect to kick LA out of the 50 United States? We could still keep the 50 and bring in either Purto Rico or Mexico....yes, I said Mexico. They're hard workers, who actually work. If their house were destroyed, they'd have their whole family there rebuilding it, not asking for Federated handouts.
