Ms. Manners...I am not referring to manners, I'm talking about understanding dining etiquette, which goes a bit beyond putting a napkin in your lap, chewing with your mouth closed, and not digging for treasure in your ears during the meal.
First-generation college students often don't know the finer points of these events. But even students from college-educated, upper-middle class families are sometimes unsure of which way to pass the bread or how to spit out an olive pit. Parents are not always equipped to teach these skills, even if they want to.
Sorry about your lunch time. If you are near Denton let me know and I will bring you something better than a sammich (but that only requires one fork, just to keep it simple). Cheers.....
