I agree w/Pat. There's no question that federal monies are being wasted in a fruitless battle to protect a city that should never have been built in the first place because of "southern political pressures". Piling up dirt won't protect a city that is below sea level. We shouldn't be throwing good money after bad either. What happens the next time?.......and there will be a next time. The truth is, New Orleans doesn't contribute much to the US economy and no significant employers would ever build there. It's a hurricane target that is nothing but a liability and burden on an already weak economy.
