Our adjuster sent our claim to Texas Windstorm at least 10 days ago. As part of our claim the adjuster also sent in a request for an advance since we are unable to live in our home which was heavily damaged by Ike. The recent rainy weather has caused even more damage eventhough our roof has been covered by tarps. Mold and mildew is everywhere.

We really need to get started fixing our house. How long does it take to get money to repair / replace our property once Texas Windstorm gets the adjusters paperwork? And to further complicate everything, our money has to go to the mortgage company and they claim they will issue funds back to us in allotments to repair our house. The mortgage company didn't pay my insurance bills. All they are doing is tying my hands and expecting the homeowner to pay for damages out of their own pocket.
