Subject: RE: What do you expect when you live in a recycled tin can?
We have a mentally ill son who receives just over $500/month. He cannot afford to pay rent and utilities in the area we live (not to mention a few extras such as clothes and a few dollars to spend). HUD and Section 8 do not take applications for assistance since they are overwhelmed with needy people. We are attempting to buy a place for our son so when we pass away he will be taken care of and the only thing that is remotely affordable are mobile homes. We would not choose this but at least it would be a roof over his head instead of a cardboard box. I don't think I'm asking too much to want at least affordable insurance.
