My mobile home is permanently affixed to the ground. It has a new roof and we survived all of the hurricanes without damage compared to my neighbors house which received extensive damage. I am 2 hrs east of the ocean. I refinanced my house last Sept 2004. I paid for my insurance. My check was cashed but no policy was put into force. Now I am without and cannot get any. I did get a quote for $500 month. My mortgage is $420 for 15 years. I don't live in a tin can. My mobile home is no longer mobile, it is real property. The problem lies with the nuts that build multi million dollar properties on the beach. How about the folks in Kansas? Are they singled out because there might be a tornado? Or those in Cal where there might be an earthquake? Get rid of the space program and fund the mobile home insurance for those in Fla instead. Just sign me as Cheated in Fla!!
