Amanda, We've known your whole family longer than you have honey and I can understand your frustration - these postings just aren't worth the cyberspace they take up. Whoever did that posting had probably been drinking, were home after an evening out and decided to just plain be mean; because they for sure don't have their "stats" correct.
They have some facts, but the time-line and the "true facts" just aren't there. And it sure isn't the way it is.

Steve and Joyce are honest to a fault if anything, that's one of their problems. Steve tried to stand by a friend and believe in him and he got hurt. He told the truth when asked by the authorities and he came back to bite him in the behind. He should have come forward before the autorities came to him, but he just kept trying to "fix the problem" - which at the point it has escalated it, couldn't be fixed without help.

You all didn't move to Florida because of any "lies or troubles" you moved to get a fresh start from a disgruntled ex-wife who still thinks she's married to Steve and to help give your brother Stephen a fresh start from drugs; which unfortunately didn't work.

Steve's family has come through with money, that will all come to be known at his Mitigation. They NEVER refused him.
Giving in to Joyce's needs is so funny. Your Dad's father always says how hospitable and charming and easy Joyce is to live with. How funny. She has to be the "easiest" people we know. Her mother takes very good care of her, always has - always will. And who ever they are, they're right about one thing, WW is a small town - big deal.

Joyce married your biological Dad when she was 21, they'd dated for 5 years. Yes, she had put a baby up for adoption, but big deal, you all have a close relationship now and your sister is part of the family, you're all so close.

Steve divorced his first wife way back in 1980, he didn't leave that woman for Joyce or because his son was sick, he just didn't want to be married to her any more and he was a batchelor for 6 years, dating many, many women. Joyce didn't get a divorce till 1986. She and Steve hadn't even run into each other in that foolish little small town for 17 years, no matter what anyone thinks. If Steve cheated on his first wife, it sure as all heck wasn't with Joyce. But, just like a story book, the two sweethearts were lucky enough to get together again, were always in love and did get married at a lovely garden wedding with you as a flower girl and your brother as a ring bearer. We were at the wedding, one the whole small town will remember for years and talk about to this day.

This poster refers to Joyce's bling not being real or what it seems - well, I wonder, whatever it is, she sure wears it well. We'd love to ask her x-best friend, but that person hasn't come forward, who might that be? Throughout life we go through so many circles of friends, life's circumstances change that for us. So many people are quoted and mis-quoted.

Many people tell us that they're our best friends and then they hurt us and betray us, leave us to just flounder....I say friends are great to have, just be sure you have a good barometer to test them with. Remember that old saying about not spitting in the wind........and what goes around, comes around. When you least expect it - a skeleton from anyone's past could just pop out. So come forward Joyce's oh dear best friend and speak your mind and sign your name.

You're right honey, all Joyce and Steve talk about is making restitution to the investors/victims. That's who this should be about, not about Joyce or the baby she put up for adoption when she was a baby herself. She's just overjoyed that she even found her, how's cruel for someone who knows so little to post such a cruel twisted email, they're the ones that should get their facts straight. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
