I wrote many estimates for Garner Construction, the company worked very hard for the homeowners and in many cases made arrangements far beyond that which should really be done for homeowners. The Pensacola Beach resident spoken of in your article, would have no problem, but for that of her son who is the legal heir to her property. His involvement in the claim for his own personal gain was the only thing at stake in that instance. He had no concern for the well-being of his mother, or her property. In many of the conversations I had with him prior to any "problem", was that of which were to his personal gain. The article represents the very worst of what could happen in a crisis situation such as it was; however no mention of all the good performed by Garner. I personally handled many customer concerns, forsaking sleep and family to ensure our customers were taken care of, the sad thing you don't hear is the horror stories our customers had about their personal losses. The few cases where "the Insured" sought out damages from Garner was nothing more than greed water mitigation in all its glory, is a dangerous business with potentially long term health effects. You never heard one of these homeowners filing complaints when the work was being performed,or when they were signing the work authorizations all they wanted then was someone to help them and we did, to the best of abilities with the resources we had at our disposal. Water mitigation if not handled properly will eventually result in mold damage later, we have all heard the stories, the fact of the matter is, it is costly. Some companies do not charge enough money and therfore do not perform the work properly. Garner construction, takes care of its employees and ensures their safety that you cannot set a price on.
