I don't know about Flint, but I do know it's hard to get enough adjustors. I had a tenant (rent house) for several years who worked catastrophes - floods along Mississippi, South Dakota, and then a big cat. in Guam. When there was a big storm in haiti I asked if he was going to work it - offers were up to $3000 a day for experienced adjustors. He said it wasn't worth it. Then he explained the snakes, bugs, no place to stay (hotels were smashed) no dependable food and water. So I don't think I'd want to go either.
Then a few months ago I heard about a husband and wife team who worked catastrophes. She contracted some sort of illness on one assignment, never quite got over it and died a year later.
However, there are job openings if you know someone who's interested.
