Rick,
What insight you have brought to this discussion. I am truly at a loss of words to describe your mental faculties and processes when providing your analysis.
I guess the fact that mandatory no-fault is only in 12 states means that abot a quarter of the country is "a bunch of morons." Those states don't have nearly as much insurance fraud as PIP has so wonderfully provided the State of Florida. PIP serves nothing but to line the pockets of doctors and lawyers. It also costs the responsible drivers of Florida too much due to the rampant fraud. To say there is very little is misleading...a more accurate statement is that there is very little fraud investigated due to the extraordinarily unfair penalties risked when not paying a claim (State Farm paid more than $200,000 for denying a $250 claim). PIP has outlive its intended purpose, which was to reduce lawsuits (there are now thousands of PIP lawsuits in each county, some for a mere penny).
If you observed the statute and its consequences on a daily basis, as I do, you may have a different viewpoint.
