I am sorry to hear about your loss. Personally, I think it is absolutlely irresponsible to not carry insurance. However, the system of mandatory no-fault in Florida is broken. PIP only pays for a limited number of people and is not liability insurance. If the person that caused your situation had BI (not PIP) in an appropriate amount, I know for a fact that there would be plenty of lawyers willing to represent you. I wish you the very best of luck.
