JG: Thanks for taking time to comment. You really made me feel terrible because you aren't aware of the truth of my situation. I can't work due to my back & legs problem. I'm in a lot of pain & I have nothing to take for pain because I'm allergic to everything. I have my insurance with a TOP NOTCH ins co. I checked the FLORIDA STATUTES. IT IS THERE. All you have to do is look it up and read it. If you don't believe me, please look it up. PIP will not pay OUT of the state unless you are IN A CAR. They will pay as a PEDESTRIAN ONLY if the accident happens in Florida. I checked with dozens of ins companies to confirm this after I finally found it in the Fl statutes. Most of the ins companies didn't know this till they looked it up because this situation rarely happens. Most accidents happen IN the state of Fl or if they are out of they state, the injured person was in their car. The guy who ran into me, (his ins doesn't have to pay unless I sign off & they say everything I had was prexisting, so they won't pay. Some of it was and I'm very up front about this, but I had new injuries also and exacerbations of the old problem. I didnt want to get a lawyer involved, I just wanted my bills paid, but I eventually had to because noone would pay my bills, but the lawyer said he can't make Medicare pay as of right now and I can't afford to pay up front for medical treatment I need right now. Medicare told me the other ins (the ins of the driver who hit me)is my primary ins, therefore Medicare won't pay any of my bills, accident related or not. This past week, every day I got about 20 rejections in the mail on past bills. They said even the ones they paid, I have to reimburse them for. I finally found out that Medicare will only make conditional medical payments for 120 days after an accident. I am writing a letter to my congressman. I don't know anything about insurance, I am an RN. I'm not into insurance issues. I thought PIP was an OK thing till this happened to me. This isn't just my side of the story. It is true. CHECK THE STATUTES and MEDICARE. I am the one injured here and the one losing out, why would I make up a story when I have nothing to gain. I think I will go to the newspaper about it, I have nothing to hide. You or they can check & find that everything I"ve said is true and documented. I don't know about the other issues about PIP being bad or good. I have no other reason to feel this way about PIP other than because of what happened to me. I need medical services now, & I have no coverage. If you can tell me the solution, I would gladly take your advice. My B/P wouldn't be running 220/115 if I wasn't totally upset about this.
