TPG: Interesting that you again choose one side of the story. If you read my mail to Liz, I acknowledge that there are problems with the system, I even provide some solutions. You, on the other hand, fall back on the same old insurance company speak, providing no solution other than get rid of PIP. Although I admire your conviction,I also expect this response out of you, seeing that you are basically an employee of the insurance company. You must, represent your client and employer with due dilligence. There is only subjectivity that comes with your responsibility.
Just because Florida is in the minority, does that mean were wrong? Why not try and fix the system? Sorry, you work for the insurance companies. Do you always do what every other attorney does or do you practice law with your own talent?
Again, tell all the details! Most of those other states have mandatory bodily injury coverage to protect those who do not have health insurance. Geez, novel idea. Most providers I know wouldn't mind so much if they knew that they might get paid somehow. Oh, by the way, when is the last time that you gave somebody free legal care? I have taken many 0 payments for LOP's and I keep taking them. You got to give something back, don't you?
While your at it, why don't you look at the rest of the e-mail to Liz. NO LIGITIMATE provider is opposed to being investigated, licensed and regulated. I don't know where you practice law but I know for a fact that my practice does not over charge. I know because my practice is a Progressive Insurance Blue Star practice. They conducted an audit of my clinic charges and raised about 20% of the rates, lowered 5% of the rates and left the rest alone. Stop spreading garbage on the dinner table with your company bought one sided retoric.
In these days of managed care, PIP is the last affordable healthcare coverage that doesn't become hindered by non medical providers telling medical providers how to treat patients. I don't want to have to ask an adjuster for permission or medical necessity to send patients for an MRI. I suppose you would rather have a plumber do the electrical work in your home, probably in Hialea?
C'mon TPG, tell the truth! Both sides of the story! Doing nothing is no solution. Regulate it! Make it better!
I wonder if you would have the same mindset if you were not well off enough or didn't have medical insurance and you were severely injured in an accident? I think not. For you to say anything different would be an outright lie.
Who cares about the middle class and below?
I do!
I'll be awaiting your next one sided response.
