To all you wonderful insurance geeks out there. I have a question I need help with. Since I no longer have PIP, what kind of insurance can I get that would cover me as a pedestrian who was hit by a motor vehicle in the state or out of the state? My current ins co states (today)that med pay would only come into play if I had an auto accident (in which I was in a motor vehicle). They also said Medicare would not pay but some private insurances might pay. They told me med pay would not come into play for a pedestrian who was hit by a motor vehicle, in the state or out of the state. I asked them this question several times. Something doesn't sound quite right about this that there is nothing under the auto ins policy that would pay for auto related PEDESTRIAN accidents. I am not an ins expert and this stuff is all new to me. I don't think a person should have to be an attorney to figure out what it all means any more than I would expect you to know every detail of a complicated precedure I was going to perform on you if I were your nurse in a hosp. Someone please help me out. Thank you.
