So you want to take one dysfunctional market and spread its problems over all insurance markets in the state? That makes a lot of sense. I guess you want Citizens to be the only insurer for all lines in FL? I hope carriers don't trample anyone in their rush to completely abandon the state. The answer is to charge actuarially sound rates for coastal exposures. Why is that so hard for people to understand? I'll tell you why. It's because people will believe anything if it means they can save a few bucks in the short term and the politicians will say anything to get a vote. Bad combination!
