I own (mortgage) a home in Pasco County Fl. When we got this home it was that first big step. Our insurance covereage seemed high at $1000/yr but what the hey, we have a house to call our own. Sept/Oct '05 : guess what, said Citezenz, we are raising your home owners insurance to $2000/yr. WHAT?!?!?! Double? So we work out a deal with them to pay 1/2 now and 1/2 within 3 months. We couldn't do it, guess what, they said, since you can't pay it, when you come back to start your new policy its going to be $2800/yr.

My wife is in denial that we cannot afford to keep living in this home or pay the insurance and it won't be long and our mortgage company is going to either start forclosure or add the insurance to our monthly statement.(we didn't get it escrowed in the monthly) On top of this we pay an extra $200 a year for seperate flood insurance.

I'm not under any illusion that I "could" make it work out. But I don't see any end to this and if it keeps getting worse I would be just waisting my time trying. I refuse to coninue waisting my life on this.

So like accountant said, I'm going to sell the house and get the hell out of here. You wouldn't belive the number of houses for sale in my subdivision!

Have fun Florida and don't worry the door won't hit me on the way out.
