As always, the insurance industry has to be at the forefront of turning our society into a nanny state, where government restricts our individual liberties in the name of protecting us from ourselves. This is a bad precedent, and of course, these laws also give police one more opportunity to harass their targeted profiled groups.

I guess the next big project will be to push legislation at the request of health insurers to issue tickets to people caught eating a whole bag of potato chips.

I use to almost always wear seat belts prior to the enactment of the primary seat belt law; however, in protest, I only wear them now at my discretion, whenever I feel that there is a specific safety reason to do so.
