Forcing a person over the age of 21 to wear a seat belt is against my constitutional rights! I totally agree with making children wear their seat belts, as they are too young to make their own decision.

I am not by any means saying that people should not wear a seat belt if that makes them feel safer. However, my choice to wear or not to wear one does not effect anyone other than myself. Not wearing a seat belt does not CAUSE accidents and police don't write tickets to "Save Lives"....they write tickets to "Make Money". This is just another way for the government to step into our lives and dictate what they feel we should do, all the while taking away our freedom a little at a time. I wonder why is it OK for people to smoke, knowing that they (like people not wearing a seat belt) are taking a big risk by lighting up that cigarette, yet they still have the freedom to make that awful choice and yet this choice effects me and my space and air and I have to breathe in the second-hand smoke and pollute my lungs...which is NOT my choice>>>>> So, where is the law that Smoking is Against the Law? What about all the people who actually cause accidents from running their mouths on their cellphones while driving (and this actually causes accidents) or even better talking on the phone w/one hand and eating with the other? or maybe talking on the phone, eating and smoking? WOW, I have never heard of anyone causing an accident while not wearing a seat belt!!

But, every other weekend we have cops out issuing tickets for "No Seat Belt" while people SPEED BY!! This country is going to the dogs...........
