Subject: TO: INS. BROKER from Mrs L Beck
(1)Home-we built ourselves. i.e, acted as our own contractors to save $40K. Did all interior work ourselves. Valued at the local moderate/medium level. 1,900 sq. feet, nothing spectacular inside or out. Just the basics.
(2) Nope, not a doctor. Disabled nurse who has seen too many people die waiting for insurance to kick in. (Oh, and yes, I carry malpractice insurance, too, even though I can't work right now. But I really wouldn't have too much faith in them if I ever needed it, either.)
(3) "owned 5 Automobiles"- year each manufactured: 1992, 1994, 1997, 2001, 2002. No new cars in our yard. That makes the ages in years-14, 12, 9, 5, and 4. No luxury vehicles by any stretch of the imagination. Just basic transportation. All needed by family to get to various jobs and colleges (which we also pay for ourselves. No free rides or 'cake' there, either!) Yeah, quite a collection of luxury cars, huh? And the replacement autos? Also used, over 3 years old, and includes 1 semi-klunker pick-up.
Thanks, I don't want cake, just what I used to have that was INSURED for replacement value.
Please do not put me in the whiner catagory. We have worked hard and done without for years just to scrape out an average lifestyle, not even get ahead of the game. We have also forgone many fun things we would like to have done with our kids or given to them over the years in order to make sure those outrageous insurance premiums were paid on time.
In the past 5 years we've been in 2 auto accidents with careless teenagers who had fancy new cars and were on their state-of-the-art cell phones and lived in mini-mansions, but who had no insurance, even though state law requires it. We ended up paying deductables and surcharges on accidents we did not even cause! So again, I say, DO NOT assume we are trying to get something for nothing.
We are just sick of being taken advantage of and being treated like idiots.
And I think it is dead wrong for the insurance companies to shirk their responsibilities in this matter and expect the Federal Government (that's you and me, pal, and all our tax dollars) to pay for this.
Thank you, and have a nice day, Mr. Insurance Broker person. BTW, just how big is your house, auto/boat/motorized toy collection, portfolio....?
And have you ever lost everything you were told was covered by insurance only to be jacked around for SIX months? Do you still have a blue plastic FEMA roof on your house to keep the rain out? Ever have a surly adjuster tell you he wouldn't look at your 'junk', just take it to the road to be dumped?
Oh, the stories we have to tell....
I pray Dicky does gets his day in court.
Then the truth will really be known!
Have a nice life selling those lies and false promises ;)
