We actually did have flood insurance at one time due to poor street drainage. Then the city fixed the problem so that the rain water drained off very quickly and without problems.
It was my agent who told me to drop the flood insurance as I would never need it!
(We are 2 miles from the Gulf, 3 miles from the nearest river or creek, north of the 12' high railroad track beds which act as a sort of levee here, and 25 feet above sea level. Even FEMA said I didn't need flood insurance. So you see, I did do my homework.)
What you people fail to realize is that this storm was a freak of nature, a Catagory 4 Hurricane and a TIDAL WAVE of unbelievable magnatitude, NOT a flood. A flood rises and hangs around. This water was in and out of our home in 45 minutes. We were here to witness it all.
I wish you could all come down here and see for yourselves just how bad it still is,instead of forming opinions based on the slanted liberal garbage that is shown on TV. Then maybe you'd understand why we feel this way.
When it all boils down, it was WIND (aka-a HURRICANE-for which I have coverage and a deductable) that caused the whole thing. And we have windsorm coverage. So where's the check?
And, yes, I CAN read. Unfortunatly, I cannot interpret the legalese jargon in an insurance policy. What I did get from reading the policy is what I said before...One section pretty much cancels the other out so basically we are paying for nothing!

The proper word is AFFECTED, not EFFECTED. Look it up in the dictionary.
(And you really shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition :)
See, I really can read...and comprehend, too. Just not mumbo-jumbo BS insurance policies, obviously, according to you!
As for my diatribe, I am proud to be able to state my opinions and will continue to do so as long as needed.
