Subject: To miss adjuster get your facts straight!
YOU OBNOXIOUS POMPOUS JERK!
Here you are chastising me to READ my policy when it's apparent that you can't even conjure up the mental capability to click onto previous posts and respond to the right information and remarks! I have already stated here that I understand I get nothing for the surge damage, but when an adjuster pokes a hole in your ceiling to see if the shredded-off roof allowed rain in, then says "I'm not going to pay for that [hole]", I think I have the right to be a little bit angry.
And HOW DARE you say such things about us Mississippians. As in every state, there are those who choose to laze about, procreate and live off the government.
DO NOT DARE include me or my family in that catagory. We have worked hard all our lives, have taken no handouts until this terrible tragedy, and in fact, went on a mission trip this past summer to help others in need even though our home is still only about 50% repaired. I am not patting us on the back, but I am STANDING UP TO YOU AND YOUR MISGUIDED STEREOTYPICAL OPINION OF MISSISSIPPIANS.
YOU ARE WRONG AND YOU OWE US AN APOLOGY! We have shown you and the world that we have the strength, fortitude, and brains to get our lives back to normal. With much thanks to all the wonderful volunteers, but none to the adjusters who get fat bonuses for declining payment on NON-WATER realated damage.
Your day will come and then hopefully you will be as grateful as we all are for the generous outpouring of love and help from people unlike yourself.
I am sure you see now that I DESPISE insurance companies and have been saying for years it is not the government, but the insurance companies, who have been running this country.
And to you and anyone else who reads this post, just a little info on this family of "Mississippi trailer trash":
Husband- Retired with Full Honors from 21 years US Military, now a full-time Medical Helathcare Provider, Wife-30+ years as Healthcare Provider and other jobs depending on duty station, 2 adult children. 1 who works as does her husband, keeps a clean home and has 1 child. Other is still in college and works every weekend to pay his own way. (No FASFA grants or any others. It comes straight out of his pocket!) (And no, we are NOT doctors getting fat paychecks, we are just in the professional medical field, Middle Class Americans barely scraping by!)
We even elected to accept the automatic 33% tax reduction on our unlivable home for 2005 because our city and county need the cash so badly to stay in business. We could have had it re-appraised at damage value and paid about 20% normal taxes. But we felt it was our civic duty to pay as much on the property taxes as we could, FOR THE GOOD OF ALL!
So, trust me, living in a trailer is NOT our idea of a dream home! More like a dreadful nightmare we all want to forget.
You Sir or Ma'am, are the ignorant one here. Maybe one day you will have the pleasure of watching everything you own wash out the front door with the water, have everyone in your family end up with serious infections from the putrid, toxic waters, poisonous spider bites, and last but certainly not least, have the joy of living for over a year in an 8' x 30' trailer with at least 3 adults in it. (And we're some of the lucky ones. We know of families with 4 teenagers and 2 parents who live in the same size trailer.)
As I have stated in the past on this thread, when one reads one's insurance policy thoroughly, 2 things happen:
1) One can barely understand the legalese language unless one is an attorney and
2)Every page pretty much cancels out the other. I have already stated that I KNOW I didn't have flood coverage (thanks to the advice of FEMA and my insurance agent-who also lost his business and home, and he didn't have flood insurance either!).
My biggest complaint all along has been how the insurance industry has so many loopholes and has been denying obvious wind damage by blaming it on water. There are cases right here of homes being blown to bits BEFORE the surge came in, verified on video, and since water hit that area, the adjusters say it was all water damage. Unless, of course, they had flood insurance. Then it's a battle between the 2 to see who pays the least. Those who did have flood insurance are really having a tougher time getting any money at all!
YOU HAVE INSULTED ME AND EVERYONE WHO SUFFERED LOSSES DUE TO KATRINA. YOU OWE US ALL A HUGE APOLOGY. Sorry if the only people you met with here were beneath your snobbish personal standards, but again, you obviously did not meet the rest of us.
SO, you go have a nice life and cozy up with all your insurance policies. Just wait until 'The Big One' hits you and see what happens!
God Bless You and EVERYONE who came to help because they are good, decent, helping, and loving people, obviously unlike YOU!
Mrs. LB PS- You haven't even begun to see what Dicky Scruggs is going to do to the insurance industry. You won 1 case. Big whoop! There are THOUSANDS more out there and they are going to be heard all over the place. One day there will be a judge who is reasonable enough to see that the insurance companies won't even pay on honest legitimate, and easy-to- verify claims. Dicky is a FORCE to be reckoned with, so be watching out!
GOD BLESS AMERICA
