Well it looks like a fair start, but a long way to go, I don't know what E&S carriers these guys think are willing to write a $1 million + house including wind, but simply there ain't none. This provision is stupid, just charge the rich folks a premium that reflects the risk and quit making the working folks subsidize these multi millionaires. On the other side, what are they doing to the 872,000 mobile home owners in the state. They are obviously not aware of the calibur of some of these homes. $250,000 to $300,000 is not unusual for some mobile home these days. and that is not necessarily only newer ones. ACV is not acceptable for all mobile homes, they already require depreciation based on age and then to remove the R/C provision that is there now will stop any bank from offering loans on these things, say what you want about them retired folks love them and they buy them, but if they can;t afford to pay cash they won't be able to buy them anymore. Since there is NO alternative for mobilehomes and none seen on the horizon for most of the state, Citizens needs to offer the coverage but also charge for it. To restrict fair coverage that is not available anywhere else is not right and will have other consequences. Charge what you want but offer the coverage.

Oh yeah, Rudy Garcia is a lousy politician that knows nothing about the things that come before his committee, never makes a decision on his own and overrides the majority if he does not like it, he is in the clutches of Citizens and is not likely to allow many things that are beneficial without a true fight.
