Does it matter? Whatever my personal experience has been is irrelevant to what is fair and equitable. Or are you of the opinion that someone who is a conservative and/or who has never been involved with the legal system at all - either as a juror hearing a case or as a participant - in the event of a severe injury caused by a physician's carelessness would look the other way and have no interest in pursuing a recovery? No matter what ones political orientation or experience may be, if one becomes a victim of medical negligence that prevents him or her from enjoying life as they had known it, prevented them from being able to support their family, prevents them from being able to do even the ordinary tasks of daily living, all bets will be off and that person will find themselves trying to find out if there is anything that can be done to be compensated by that doctor fo thjose losses. This was amply demonstrated in the case of the Indiana legislator several years ago who championed the tort reform movement only to change his tune when it happened to him. Then he regretfully stated that he was sorry he had been so adamnent about tort reform because the amount he was able to get due to arbitrary caps on damages was not enough to take care of his needs.

Although I am enjoying communicating with you, if you are genuinely serious about participating in this dialogue, don't resort to trying pidgeon-holing people. That exactly how special interests market their b--- sh---. In short, don't be small minded - look at the bigger picture - that people's rights are being taken away and the majority of our citizens - or at least the ones who take the time to vote - do not seem to care. Not until it happens to them.
