Clearly this is Ala's way of clearing out the evil spirits in Florida, blow them out, flood them out, now burn them out and jees now a drought. The cost to live here is higher than ever, I see only 2 viable options, pay it or cash out and leave.
The insurance industry can not be blamed for losses, we can not blame them for 40 years of calm thru most of Florida, we can;t even blame them for the idiotic things that are legislated that puts them in a position to reduce coverage and exposure just to survive. We can blame them for not offering much to fix the problem other than higher rates. Consumers need to be able to retro houses to bring them up to a better code and received a SUBSTANTIAL discount, people need to replace older mobile homes or take a chance that they may blow away. we need to allow companies to charge a rate that allows them to make enough money to pay expenses, make a modest profit and also require an increase in the reserves and surplus level every year if they want to stay reputable and do business,. regulation should not be only on what they charge but are they able to protect us and we need to pay for that protection if we want it. Anybody know who would be a good write in candidate for Florida Governor because no one running is capable of it and no one deserves the honor.
