great thought! reward the states with consistent and stable results and lower premiums with federal regulation. That way we can subsidize the incompetent, corrupt or political insurance departments that cost their state residents millions up millions of extra premium dollars every year.
your also right in that the federal regulations would eliminate all corruption and fraud in the system.
on a less sarcastic note you may want to research and find out what the large national companies want... I'll give you a hint... it's not state regulation. I think they know that it will be a lot easier to influeance a federal buracracy than 50 state bureacracies.
